The Journey of Greeting in the Rawda
The Journey of Greeting in the Rawda
Beneath the Green Dome, time falls silent and the heart begins to speak…
Your steps respond to a call echoing from centuries past.
Every stone, every shadow, every breeze whispers to you: “Reverence.”
You carry your heart in your hands, and every tear that falls from your eyes is the first syllable of your greeting.
When you say, “Peace be upon you, O Messenger of Allah,” you suddenly walk back into the past—
to the days when the Companions sat shoulder to shoulder,
to the hours when the desert wind carried the fragrance of revelation.
As you draw near to him (peace be upon him), words grow small and your heart grows vast.
You are taught that a greeting should not only be upon the tongue but must be the vow of loyalty for a lifetime.
And you realize that honoring him (peace be upon him) is not only in his presence,
but must be lived at home, in the marketplace, at the table, and in your mercy toward others.
The fragrance of the Rawda does not cling to your lips, but to your soul.
Even when you depart, your greeting remains there—
beneath the shadow of the Green Dome, upon the tongues of angels, in the heart of Divine Mercy.
And you know that every greeting to him (peace be upon him) is preserved by your Lord—
just as He preserves your love, your belonging to his Ummah, and your longing for him.
