Miqaat Standing at the Threshold

Miqaat

Standing at the Threshold

Every journey has a threshold.
And in this sacred journey,
That threshold is:
“Miqaat.”

Outwardly, it is a station;
Inwardly, it is a confrontation.

Miqaat waits for you
As if to say:

“From here on, it is no longer about you.”

You meet the Ihram,
And it begins to take you away from yourself.

You take a step there,
But it is not a step upon the earth—
It is a step upon your own heart.

For Miqaat
Is the boundary between the self and surrender.

There, the tongue loosens,
The eyes fill,
Because now,
There is no turning back.

You either walk towards truth,
Or remain,
Silent at the edge.

Miqaat is the final line drawn before the ego.

“O Nafs!
To pass beyond this point,
You must fall silent.”

There, you whisper:
“Labbayk!”

“Here I am, O Allah, ready at Your command.”

That voice comes not from your lips alone,
But from the depths of your heart.

And from that moment on,
No step is ever ordinary again.
